Why are you extending American law to foreigners?

I'm not extending anything to anyone, I'm saying the current Gitmo situation is unjust and unAmerican. Indefinite detention without charge is ridiculous, and I can't believe you even want to argue against that. Indefinite detention without charge sounds like the actions of the authoritarian dictatorial regimes that we in principle oppose.

They were captured and detained for a reason

You (like me) have no idea what the reason was. Why not give the reason 3-4 years later? The failure to do so indicates the reason is likely flimsy. The fact that a bunch of the Gitmo detainees have been released and are now living normal lives in their home countries indicates the reason was often flimsy.

"Are you the jury and judge"....NO he's not, but nobody else seems to be either. And THAT'S the scary part.

They picked those guys up with no real "proof" of anything they did and that's why they don't want to take them in front of real juries. They want to put them in front of military "rubber stamp" tribunals and avoid having to present any real evidence.

This stupidity IS finding a jury and that jury is the BILLIONS of Muslims that now judge the U.S. with even more of a bias than seen in our military tribunals.

Bush stupidity will probably taint us for generations to come.
