if we moved Israel to Jersey, wouldn't things get a lot worse in the middle east since Israel is the biggest lightning rod there today? Why would we care what happened in the Middle East if the Israelis all moved to Jersey? We would buy oil from whatever despot rules the oil rich lands, and let the local population battle amongst themselves over how to live together. The US would be like China and Russia are today - uninvolved observers of tribal nutcases trying to figure out their own manifest destiny. I agree with you Steve, let all the Israelis immigrate to Jersey and take US citizenship with handsome stipends for 3-5 years to get themselves up and running, and disengage from that troubled region. An excellent idea you have come up with!
