Al Qaeda has never had a successful attack on any Saudi oilfield infrastructure, for example.

Not for want of trying. There was a major attempt a few months ago.

Even Iran would pretty much lose all reason to hate the USA if the Israelis relocated to Jersey - what do they care if we are watching salacious Britney Spears videos on the other side of the planet?

It's easy to believe that Israel is the only cause of the trouble, cause that's what the Arabs keep saying. But it's not true. Hatred of the West (first Spain, then Britain and France, then the US), and blaming it for all local ills, is deep rooted in the Arab world and predates the creation of Israel by at least 150 years. Israel became the lightning rod for this generalized hatred, the focus of it, because it was right there. It wasn't the original cause.
