>>plain vanilla cdma cannot compete aginst that. Its over game set and match.<<

Not quite. Multi mode chip handsets that can roam on all networks are the future. Garbage will be full of sim cards. That's when it's game over.

His US cdma handest is useless. And even if it wasn't he would use it becuase with the gsm SIM he calls at Chinese cheap rates and no roaming charges.

About 18 months ago, I looked into buying a "worldwind" phone from China Unicom. These are combo GSM and CDMA capable and come with two SIM/RUIM slots. Ideally you would be able to plug in a Chinese CDMA ruim card for use there, a GSM SIM card where needed, and use it for CDMA in the US.

Sprint told me unless the phone has a Sprint logo on it, they won't activate it for their network - even though that Samsung model SCH-A790 is actually sold by Sprint.

"It's over; game, set, and match"

Yippee Limtex is out of Qualcomm. No more whingeing day after day year after year. Now if Eric would just sell both his shares(I'm assuming that he still claims to hold QCOM, I haven't read a post of his for years) the boards will get a lot more readable.
