I would remind everyone that children with sparklers need to be closely supervised, and at least 6' apart from each other. They also need to be acutely reminded, more than once, that the burning end is hotter than the elements on a stovetop. And, I would most strongly suggest that a pair of Daddy's clear plastic safety glasses may look somewhat un-cool, but the alternatives could wreck someones weekend, or worse. Hey, ...you make them wear seatbelts in the car and life-jackets in the boat, right.....

I think reasonable fireworks (..M-80's, Cherry Bombs, etc. excepted..) are great, as long as Dads and Moms are directly present and "..in charge..", so that small people are not prone to rely on their own easily distracted and immature judgement.

As they used to say on Hill Street Blues, "...Be careful out there..."!!!
