The Muslim world never had a beef with the Japanese. It did with the West. Remember a little thing called the "Crusades"? It's like yesterday in certain quarters. Then there was the Spanish Empire, that fought the Ottomans for centuries. Then Britain and France rose in power, and the Ottoman Empire became the sick man of Europe. The beef is with America now because America is the heir of Britain. As for what Arabs say, they say a lot of stuff that saves their face. It's not the same stuff that motivates them, as you can see if you try to act on it. If the Arabs really gave a tinker's damn for the rights of the poor poor Palestinians, Clinton's Herculean efforts to find a settlement should have pleased them. It didn't and they did everything they could to make it fail.
