"truth, justice and the American way." It's become an oxymoron for the majority of the planet, including the opinion inside the US. But the future looks bright. Bush will be out very soon. Happy Independence Day!

Nah. That would be too easy. It boggles my mind that anyone would think that important enough-- either to insist on two different versions or to express disapproval of the US in that way. Boggles. You'd have to be an ideologue to even consider either one. Well, at least the controversy takes some heat off Superman being a gay Jesus... <g> (This is reminding me a bit of the Pledge controversy. Each has language that wasn't original but rather added recently, language that now become sacrosanct.)
