< tanks and helicotper gunships and began shooting the place up>

Give them their < real state > and do you think the terror attacks would cease ? Israel would then have been attacked by a sovreign state and would declare war. That should have been done anyway, as Nadine pointed out, awhile ago and would have had Sharon been in charge.

Does there exist a leader with the vision and power to take the Pal's and build a nation instead of a breeding ground for hate and despair ? It is certainly not desired by any other Arabic nation.

Nadine, if any other nation crossed the border of another with tanks and helicotper gunships and began shooting the place up, we might take issue

US support for Israel has nothing to do with the issue. The Pals have been shelling Southern Israel. Then they attacked a border outpost and took a hostage.

Chris, do you seriously think that if Mexico, say, began shelling San Diego from Tijuana, it would not engender a military response from the US?

The right to reply to cross-border agression is well understood.
