Bush went AWOL from the champagne Guard unit he was in, then cut and ran from the Guard two years early to go to Harvard. awolbush.com (all the facts here) Kerry decided not to dodge the draft like Bush-Cheney did and instead volunteered for combat in Vietnam, despite misgivings about the war. He served with stellar courage in combat and earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts, also rallying the entire SWiftboat community to go on the offensive against enemy firing at them from the shores, not run away as boats had been doing prior to Kerry's entry into the arena. Kerry also dared to go on 3-4 covert missions in Cambodia right after Christmas 1968 ferrying Navy SEALS in behind enemy lines. For this, the rightwing lambastes him. Real military heroism mneans nothing to the Bushie rightwing. Only cowards and liars get treated like heros on the far right.
