it is relevant - recycling often saves energy, and in the case of plastics, directly saves petrochemicals- and in the case of waste used instead of fertilizer, also saves energy, which of course impacts global warming.

What part of reducing GH emissions don't you understand? I could even make the case averting landfill reduces CO2 production.
