My problem is not that he compromises....it is that by moving closer to the house version (if that is what is happening), I think he has actually stalled chances to get something done on immigration. JMHO, and I could most certainly be wrong...I think compromise is the answer to most problems and this president has not, in the past, been a very good compromiser. Perhaps this move was telegraphed and the senate knows and understands the strategy. We will have to see.

But I am curious..if a democrat compromises, are they flip-floppers or not dedicated to principles, but if a republican compromises they are savvy politicians.

It seems many see what they want to see, as GZ points out.

I hope the Senate goes along with the house/administration position on immigration, or at least in that direction. We'll have to wait and see.
