What militant leftists? "Militant" clearly means violent. There is not a single violent leftist organization in the country. And those writers Medved mentions have never lifted a finger against anyone. Therefore, the logic of that entire article is defeated. I happen to know something about the history of the left in this country. The Depression made millions of leftists (which basically just means sticking up for peoples' rights against the fat cats) because it was clear the fat cats at the top and the government they corrupted cared not a wit for the people. That pattern is starting to repeat itself now. I've been hearing more and more about how everything the mega-corporations and billionaires are gaining during Bush era is being taken right out of the pockets of the middleclass. Job security is nil, wages and benefits are not enough, personal debt is at an all-time high and savings are terrible. So we could very well be headed toward another Great Depression. If that happens, expect the leftwing to take over. All because of extreme Bushie rightwing corruption and corporate greed gone amok.
