Duh! The company should be paying the healthcare premiums for its employees. It is not paying them for non-employees. IOW, the employee is earning the premium.

If the company doesn't, then the taxpayer has to pick up the tab. And I suppose that includes you as well. In effect, you are paying for a form of welfare - corporate welfare.

Bill, why are you for filthy rich corporations shoving their very basic health care costs onto We The Taxpayers, especially after Bushies have already run up 7 trillion in new deficit spending and our country is in essence broke?

Do you love huge faceless companies owned by selfish mega-billionaires that much that you no longer care about where your tax dollars go, or how deeply the country is in hock?

and what about the poor Walmart dude who has to pay part of his $7 an hour for the worst health care package in the country? Should he pay for it and make $6 an hour instead?

250 Illegal Immigrants Arrested Working At Wal-Mart

(* more evidence Walmart doesn't give a damn about American workers)

Workers nabbed on immigration charges; executives facing subpoenas, U.S. official says.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Federal officials raided Wal-Mart stores across the United States Thursday, arresting about 250 illegal immigrants working on cleaning crews at 61 stores in 21 states.

Federal agents picked up undocumented workers from Mexico, eastern Europe and other countries who were employed by several contractors used by the world's largest retailer. Many of those arrested in the crackdown, which officials called "Operation Rollback," were coming off night cleaning shifts at various Wal-Mart stores.
