Undoubtedly, significant amounts of political mud slinging emanates from both sides, but ginned up accusations of treason are beyond the pale, IMO.

Especially when it is part of a deliberate effort to smear the opposition.

Especially when it is the POTUS making the accusation.

And especially when that accusation is not followed by formal charges.

Otherwise, it is just another extreme example of the coarsening of the political climate.
