Don't quite know how old you are, Ish. Got a feeling we're pretty close in age. I'm getting close to 64 and just had an MRI that told my doc that arthro is in my very near future.

For all of this, as a small businessman, my wife and I are paying $5000 per quarter with $1000 deductible. And neither one of us have medical problems up to this point.

Thought I would never say it, but I'm actually looking forward to Medicare.

Not looking forward to the next premium increase which will be automatic with this little upcoming surgical procedure.

:-(

Went from going blind to 20/20.

As you probably recall, I had that surgery in both eyes in the 80s. My only regret is that I still have to wear glasses for 20/20. You will never go blind from Cataracts now. That happens to a lot of older people who are past the point where they can have the surgery.
