"Liberals love global warming because, in theory, it provides justification to stop the evul polluters"

Thats easy for YOU to say since you live in Los Angeles. What about the other cities on this planet where no one can breathe because of all those Bummers Americans love to drive?

<Markets will determine the solution to the problems of energy and environment -- the real ones, that is.>

Not always. I grew up in Southern Oregon. My dad was a foreman at the only Nickel smelter in the US. They let their tailing pond leak into Cow Creek above the water plant for Riddle. That was in the 50's and early 60's.Went on for a long time. Lot of higher cancer rates and luekemia (spelling) in Riddle for years after that. Let's see if I can find a link. Also the small valley was blanketed with refiner dust.

This is a nickel strip mine in Riddle, Ore., 60 miles north of Rough and Ready Creek. It's one of the biggest toxic waste sites in the state.
