You can learn a lot about human nature by taking an clear look at how you feel about classes of people. If one looks at a well to do person there are several reactions, depending on where the money was got, or earned and your particular class.
1. he is in the rackets..
fear of invading personal space, admiration for audacity, disdain for taking the easy way out, rage at low morality, jealous of easy life, want to join his gang, he has metal detector in his front and back hallway, three bodyguards, and has to watch his friends more than his enemies..
2. inheritance
-- lucky devil, wastrel, couldn't open a can of soup, nice guy (drinks at the same bar I do), drives a dadillac, has done well for himself in spite of the crippling load the money has placed him under in terms of lack of incentive to self improve, surrounded by social climbers, con artists and sycophants, real friends are as useless as he.
3. self-made man
he is just lucky, right connections obviously, brilliant, riding coattails of politicians, born into the right crowd, used his parents money, upstart, not country club material, cheated somehow, in the rackets, steal the pennies from dead mother's eyes, aggressive entrepreneur, knows money but little else, thinks of nothing but money, collects art but does it on wife's advice, rich but no real friends.
4. self-made women.
rhymes with rich, slept her way to top, rhymes with rich, cold as ice, used some man for her money, rhymes with rich, uses her body to manipulate men, rhymes with rich, watch your wallet in the bedroom, dyke, surrounded by bootlickers, intimidating, driven, rich but lonely.
5. girl inherited millions
fabulous looks, can get used to a ditz for all that cash, poor little rich girl, is that a Cartier? should know better than to wear jewelry in this part of town, surrounded by social climbers and sycophants, rich but lonely.
Bottom line, when we judge others success or luck we don't do it from a standpoint of if we were in their shoes, but from several primitive emotions, envy, greed and sour grapes being prime.
