The parallels between Vietnam and Iraq are eerie. IMO Iraq is much, much worse because:

1. We all remember Vietnam and haven't bothered to learn its lessons.

2. Iraq is for PROFIT. It's a hugely cynical war made for the benefit of those who don't care which side they're on as long as there is perpetual war for perpetual profit and power.

I hear more and more 2007/end as the limit of the patience of both Americans and Iraqis. This presents a real problem for Dubyette because he has zero intention of pulling troops out of Iraq as long as there's oil to be had.

Troops there, of course, simply leaves the USA open to more terrorist attacks. In this equation Dubyette cares more about which: Americans or oil?

Hmmm. Lemme think about that one.
