Not Sign Declaration of Independence Today" Actually... don't you think that the Classical Liberals would be the firebrands opposing the Autocratic domination of a King (whether the object of their opposition was the English Monarch, or the 'American King' that was proposed by some at the time for his 'replacement') --- just as they did, in fact, at that important point in history... while it would be the Classical Conservatives SUPPORTING the Monarchy (just as they, in fact, did at that important point in history)? Perhaps just as the 'Big Daddy' or 'Big Nanny' Conservatives STILL TODAY often come down in favor of Authoritarian solutions and bigger, ever more intrusive, government....
