Communication is shown to occur instantaneously over distance in model quantum demonstrations.

Maybe the dispute is over the definition of communication.

If a property is measured, and thereby the property of a linked particle is set, it doesn't provide a way to send information because nobody knew what the property was, and so had no control over the property that would be measured at the other particle.

In a way it's equivalent to saying that if the square-root of a number is picked at random, then the other complementary root will have the opposite sign. It's closer to a tautology than a form of communication.

I think there's subtle meaning with respect to non-locality and 'information'... sending or transmitting packets, vs what you're calling 'communication... ie. non-local phenomena, ie. instantaneous recognition of a change in the information of an entire hologram throughout the hologram.
