I needled JohnM about the NJ tax over on the "View from the center" thread. John's response was: It's a good deal, though I would have preferred an income tax raise (progressive) to a sales tax raise (regressive). Someone had to do something to begin to address the structural problems in NJ. Corzine is doing something close to the right thing. I commented back: Why am I not surprised that your NJ solution is "which tax do we increase?" You are right in there with the NJ Pols.
