i've said it before, but as a public service i'll say it again: news don't move markets. sometimes an unexpected development may influence trading for a few hours, but in the end the market always goes to wherever it wanted to go in the first place. surely you've heard the old adage that in bull markets , all news are good news and vice versa in bear markets. just another way of stating what should be obvious - news do not influence market trends.
another way of proving this is to simply look at the 'explanations' given in the financial press after every trading day as to 'why' the market did this or that on a given day. after a while you'll notice that often the SAME reason is given for BOTH up and down moves.
