What progressive ideas do you believe in?

I would like to get rid of the term 'conservative' because it has become synonymous with the Republican party and its activities rather than a coherent philosophy.

It's impossible, for example, to be a 'conservative' and increase the national debt by 45% in 6 years...on purpose.
