They're really like American Ayatollahs when you think about it. Ignore science, adhere to the orthodoxy regardless of how ridiculous it is.... At least many spiritual people and religious people know better. National Council of Churches just to name one. Many others as well.

All cults believe that the facts are all on their side and the non believers are the ones who are wrong. If your cult classes people who hold moderate, rational and non-over-reacting views as a cult then it is your opinion. If you choose to believe that the scientists that are cowed by the cult into submission and obeisance are the only rational ones then it is your opinion. Frankly, anyone who backs up and looks at the big picture will see that the behavior of the global warming cult scientists resembles the way that Nazi's treated Jews. They attempt to ostracize critics and skeptics while freezing them out of government funding and "peer review" publications. "First, do no harm."
