You are far from correct in believing that I don't understand lots of people in the world would like to see me dead. Heck, lots of people on SI would like to see me dead, and the world is considerably more scary than SI.

I am all for killing when it is necessary. My husband and father, my biological mother, my uncle and grandfather, and in fact every male I can think of in my family on both sides going back as far as I know, have served in the military. That we can and should use violence sometimes is a given, but luckily the "rough" men and women in my family believe in using judgment with violence. That our judgment in my family may be different from yours, does not make us afraid to use violence when we feel it is warranted. It is often the case, I'm afraid, that on SI people generalize too extremely- and the dislike of violence in one case, for practical reasons, is seen as pacifism. You have made that mistake in your post to me.

You prefer a nuanced POV, where raw truth is covered up with polite conversation.

Wow, did you snarl some different concepts there. "Nuance" is about analytical differentiation, as distinguished from "simplistic." Course vs genteel is an entirely different concept from differentiation. If the "drawing room" nature of the conversation here is too soft for you, that's one thing. And if you like your ideas blunt rather than incisive, that's another thing.

And both of those concepts are different from the notion of blinkered vs broad input and the notion of rough men protecting the genteel. You've mushed together (a genteel word if I ever wrote one) four different concepts.

Now, if the above bit of nuanced analysis and abstraction isn't enough to drive you off, I don't know what is... <gggg>

Careful Bill, your inner fascist is showing.

Although I can see why you'd want to hang out here, since your thread is about as interesting as mold now that you've banned everyone who dares disagree with your narrow worldview.
