The idea that the Left owns the media and the campuses - all thousands of them - is both factually wrong and politically biased. One of the interesting consequences of this is that those segments of the right who advocate these views lead themselves into a variation of the John Birch stuff of the 60s.

And since it is one of those Left-Right broad bashing smears, it has no place here. Like I said, "Dale's is the only opinion that counts." But I disagree. Indeed, the left doesn't "own" "all" the media and campuses, but it is definitely dominant. The distortion of progressives and socialists just compounds the foolishness. And you'll notice he said "progressives" which is closer to being true thus less a "left-right broad bashing smear" than had he said "liberals." A subset of our progressive wing has socialistic sympathies. And getting some folks to differentiate between liberals and progressives is a step in the right direction. A tad more lipstick and it would be within tolerance. Now, I know that you are not persuaded. You and I will never agree on smear threshold. And I'm sure that LB doesn't appreciate my application of the dreaded "nuance" to arguing the point. So since I'm surely not pleasing either of you, I'll stop here. <g>
