Hee hee hee... Pielou was a Research Scientist for the Canadian Dept. of Forestry (1963-64), Research Scientist at the Dept. of Agriculture (1964-67), and Professor of Biology at the Queen's University, Kingston (1968-71). She became a professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia (1974-81) and was the Oil Sands Environmental Research professor at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta (1981-86). She contributed significantly to the development of mathematical ecology, the mathematical modeling of natural systems. Pielou is a tireless writer, whose work includes over 60 papers, articles and scientific publications. She wrote many books, ranging in topic from her classic Introduction to Mathematical Ecology (1969) to popular science books such as After the Ice Age: The Return of Life to Glaciated North America (1992) and A Naturalist's Guide to the Arctic (1994).
