Obviously, the Dems haven't been producing inspiring leaders. But don't forget that they fielded the candidate who got the most votes in 2000, despite losing nearly 4% of the vote to Nader. They also fielded a candidate who lost only very narrowly to a sitting President during a war in 2004.

I can blame Kerry's flat-footed campaign for part of the loss in '04, but not all of it. No, I have to give Rove a lot of credit.

Actually, Rove is a master criminal. He is the real-life Dr. Evil. But he's not the only one. Cheney, Delay, James Baker, GW Bush himself. They are in abundance. Very powerful totally corrupt politicians who will do or say anything for $$$ and power and don't give a damn about us or our democracy.
