The US Supreme Court's decision (on June 29) embraces Article 3 of the Geneva Accords in the military commission case and strikes at the heart of the legal position of the White House in its self-proclaimed global war on terror. The US Supreme Court's ruling has far-reaching implications indeed. In finding President Bush in violation of the Geneva Conventions, the ruling has created a prima facie case for court charges to be filed against President Bush as an international war criminal.
