Iraq is already out of our control. We control a Green Zone and the airport, plus an oilfield or two. That's about it. Our presence there is a huge irritant to Iraqis and forments anger in the street on both sides. The Iraqi PM and the Iraqi people all want us out of there ASAP. We are not doing anyone any good. In fact, you know who the two parties happiest we're in Iraq are, Al Qaida and Halliburton. Truly. Think about it. What has helped terrorism more than our blundering into Iraq, occupying Arab "holy land", "stealing" their oil, torturing their men and lying to the world about it all? Nothing. Nothing Bush could have done would have been more counter-productive. And Bush was warned not to do it. Also, he dropped the ball on the real war against terrorists by bogging all our resources down in Iraq.
