Kerry was at a general meeting and asked some questions. So what? So did the entire press corps and many good patriotic citizens trying to end that horrific war. And Kerry is as patriotic as a US citizen gets. His entire life has been public service. Plus, didn't Jesus christ say "blessed are the peace-makers"? Absolutely.

Keep in mind, 100 American soldiers per week were still dying then plus hundreds of POW's continued being held while Nixon dragged his feet mainly for domestic political reasons. Nixon knew that war had to end years before (and promised to end it) but didn't want to appear "weak" so he invented this plan to "end the war with dignity" and while he dragged out the Peace talks, he dropped enormous quantities of bombs on Vietnam while our guys kept dying. That was his leverage. Just imagine the carnage, after we had all already recognized the war was a huge mistake, completely unwinnable and not in the US's interests. Sure Kerry asked questions, as we all should have much-much earlier, back in 1964 when LBJ first lied to get us into that quagmire. And as Bush got us into a similar quagmire in 2003. We should keep asking questions and never trust the war-for-profit crowd. They have proven themselves liars who damage our country greatly.

Kerry did nothing wrong in Paris or anywhere else. He helped our country and our military get through a very difficult and humiliating time. He helped save US lives.

Your fundamental dishonesty, or lack of historical knowledge, is that by then the war was over, except for the fact that our troops were still over there and hadn't been withdrawn yet. So hundreds and thousands of them were still dying even after we'd finally thrown in the towel. Nixon also kept bombing away, killing tens of thousands of people, mainly civilians, and our POW's were still stuck in horrendous camps, but because the peace talks were stalled, nobody got to come home.

Kerry was one of thousands of concerned visitors to Paris in those days from all over the country and world who observed and asked questions of both sides, trying to push the process forward to end the GD war once and for all. Kerry probably helped save a lot of US lives, including those of POW's. He certainly never did anything unethical nor did he ever "help the enemy". In fact, getting to the end of those negotiations ASAP could only help US troops and our nation.

Kerry certainly saved many US troops lives in his work with VVAW, though he didn't like some of their radical ways and quit that organization soon after he'd joined it. The FBI finalized their surveillance report on Kerry (Nixon had JK under surveillance for two years!) that he wsa a moderate, very lawful, never did anything radical, illegal or wrong. End of story. Blessed are the peacemakers, baby. Jesus said that. And quit smearing our war hero leaders.
