Well state Jim and I concur..

I know that reading of listening to what other's term the left leaning thread must irk you at times. That is how I feel when I listen to Rush,Hannity,O Reilly and there are a few more. Or read stances of issues that appear to be so blind.

However, there are some others who irk me too when they get too carried away with the program and seem to lose a semblance of sanity..I could give example of both teams..

This is why I prefer this thread although I do read meny of the other threads... It pricks at my all ready formed opinion as you know whence I come politically, but at least I get the other side of the story...<GGG>

So long as we have to defend our positions in fora like this, at least we are thinking critically, regardless of our respective positions.

Very well put, Jim. When you look at most controversial issues in America, I can hardly think of one that has more than 60% public support either way. So perhaps a definition of the center is someone who picks and chooses among these issues and doesn't follow a left-leaning or right-leaning line in each and every case.

I always follow my gut instinct that when the Right or the Left comes up with a platform that can win 60-65% of the population and keep them behind that movement, there will be some kind of lasting governing majority.

But we have not seen that for years, and probably won't for many more years to come.

There is no "side" hoping for the terrorist to win- save for some idiots like the kid that went over to join Al Qaeda. Disagreeing with Bush's methods is NOT wanting the terrorists to win, it is wanting the terrorists to lose, but without committing illegalities, or other improprieties against the republic. Folks who criticize the NY TImes can very well argue about their judgment, wrt to how they weigh these factors (how the war on terror should be fought)- but disagreeing over tactics is not the same as being on the side of the enemy.
