The same giving opportunities are available to you as to Buffet.

somewhat OT (but keeping with Brinkers topic last weekend)

Richard - I read and listen to arguments of those who are disappointed (or worse) with Buffet. But I really do not understand the negative feelings.

If you send $1,000 to your favorite church or a charity, you will save around $300 to $400 on federal and state taxes. (That assumes you are an average US taxpayer in a higher tax bracket). This situation is very similar to Buffet's - just substitute "estate tax" for "income tax". Why in the world would we call you a tax evader - as some Buffet's detractors suggest we call him? I am not sure if you belong to that group -- if not, I apologize for directing this note to you.

It is true that the taxman will receive $300 less. But your $1000 will do a world of good for the poor who are being fed by your church! And Buffet's gift just may make a difference in eradicating world' most prevalent debilitating disease -- malaria.
