"This board is hardly where I'd take "my ideas" to test them for truthfulness"

There are no tests here for truthfulness. I think that is a matter for your own conscience. A matter of character, really.

I was thinking about intelligent design today. Here is a thought experiment: If we knew (somehow) that there was a Designer of the universe...is there even one significant fact that we could extrapolate from that knowledge? None that I can think of. We still wouldn't know (acknowledgment to Steven Dutch) that...

The Designer has infinite powers
The Designer made use of supernatural methods
The Designer has any moral or ethical dimensions
The Designer is concerned with the Universe
The Designer is concerned with or even aware of human beings
The Designer communicates with human beings
There exists a reliable record of any such communications
Some particular document is actually that record
Any religion has an accurate picture of the Designer
Any religion interprets the record of communications truthfully
Some particular sect is actually that religion
