Iraq is a violent Christian crusade against Muslims or don't you remember how Bush went into this war...

So since Dwight D. Eisenhower called his autobiography about "The Great Crusade", the European battles of WWII were a war against Christians (most germans were christians)??

A Crusade is a figure of speech that has been commonly used for ANY NUMBER of purposes to emphasize a battle/struggle against something that will require tremendous effort.

Here.. they are talking about the "long crusade" against the Guinea Worm in Nigeria.. (in which Jimmie Carter is involved)

nytimes.com

(and y'all need to watch the video associated with this link though it's not for weak stomachs).

Thus, is this a crusade against all Nigerians? (and btw, I applaud the Carter Center for taking action on this).

Or how about the "crusade" against Neurodegenerative disease:

biz.yahoo.com

How about the Virginity Crusade?:

commondreams.org

Or the crusade against Heart Disease?:

news.bbc.co.uk

Now for Bush to have used the term "Crusade" was stupid, given the historical sensitivities related to the usage of the word in the context of Christian-Muslim interactions.

But IN NO INSTANCE did Bush claim it was a "Crusade against the Muslim religion" unless you're claiming that all muslims are militant Jihadist fanatics who want to conquer the world and re-establish a Caliphate.

Now if you believe that all Muslims hold these beliefs, then I guess you're justified in being upset about this usage of the word Crusade...

And I can see why YOU'RE NOT UPSET about how the fanatical militant muslims use the term Jihad almost incessantly.

The only thing MORE stupid that Bush's slip of the tongue, is for people like you to claim that it equates to the historical crusades, which were marketed (at the time) as an attempt to RE-CONQUER the Holy Land, which had been invaded and occupied as the result of a militant Muslim invasion from the Arabian peninsula.

This war is against Islamic militancy, not an attempt to conquer, occupy, and convert Muslims to Christians.

It is the Islamic Militants, waging their terrorist Jihad, who's agenda is to conquer, occupy, and force everyone to adher to their religious beliefs.

Might be time to get your Friggin' priorities straight...
