Legal marriage age for women in Iran is thus 9.

That would at least be 2x statutory rape according to US laws unless something changed recently.

But I agree that US soldiers even on Muslim soil are bound by US laws and in no way should be excused, did this really take place as described by reputable media like NY Times.


That's Iran........the marrying age for women in most Muslim countries is 15; 18 in Turkey.
