I was raised in Florida, I used to PLAY in the St. Augustine fort before it was a monument and was totally deserted. I can tell you from FIRST HAND observation there were MASS GRAVES of indians that the Spanish slaughtered. Those Spanish were a tough bunch, torture was pretty common. Spain was in the new world for two reasons IMHO, first to find and send back any riches they could and secondly to bring Catholicism to the natives. (every Spanish expedition included missionary type priests). They were not too interested in founding a COUNTRY, which is probably the reason ENGLISH is the more accepted foundation of this country. jdn

The whole history of N and S America is in MY kids history books. The Pope divided the continents between the Spanish and the Portuguese. I believe you and I live in the Portuguese section. Maybe we should all start speaking Portuguese.

Btw - It's no myth that the prisons are full of illegal immigrants and the hospitals are bursting with illegal immigrant babies - getting free service. BTW2, even though the President never apologized to the Minute Men for calling them vigilantes as he should have, he did stop calling them that.
