My feeling is that the base is upset, and being kept upset, for the wrong reasons. Pursuing the "stolen elections" path is not the way to move forward or to address why the party is not/has not garnered the public support it needed. If anything, given the criticism of the Bush Administration, the Democrats should know that it isn't necessarily wise to pander to the party extremes. Perhaps they think the extremists are the moderates or that they represent the majority of Democrats.
