Well, from that article, an accurate headline would be "Gulf Stream slowdown will be overwhelmed by global warming" which would not be very exciting... even "Gulf Stream slowdown might help a little with global warming" probably won't gain too many readers.

Mind you, if all that hot water sits around in the Gulf or mid-Atlantic rather than being channelled north, do you think this would further exacerbate storm (hurricane) strength or frequency, since such certainly are increased by more warm surface water?
