At the time Hillary probably cheered Lieberman's remarks and wished she had the freedom to do the same. As it was, she was not about to let her husband's philandering cut short her stay at the WH. Had to feel sympathetic to her at the time...she was absolutely humiliated in the eyes of the entire world. I'm convinced that's why the women of NY offered her the senate seat--a consolation prize.
