I see a lot of posts about how unbelievable it is that analysts can be wrong so often. If you are a contrarian like I am then you just smile when you see a downgrade and say bring on some more.

Bottoms are formed when the overwhelming majority of analysts do just what ML did today. So I say downgrade away!

But the bottom line of what I linked was towards the end.

Basically never blame anyone else but yourself for what happens to your investment dollars. Not analysts, the media, CEO's, institutional investors, other posters on the threads, your spouse, your best friend or the dog that ate your homework.

But I think it's a very good idea to understand that their are always extremes that will pay off in the end. That's when being a contrarian tells you to invest against the prevailing sentiment. It's just that knowing when you've reached such an extreme can be very difficult to ascertain.

But complaining while you wait for that great opportunity is just a waste of time.
