Did you see the old BBC version from 1985. Fay Weldon dramatized it- and she was brilliant in her selections from the text. Also, imo, it has THE most marvelous supporting cast. The father is everything I would wish him to be, the mother also, and EVERY character is perfect. I especially like Charlotte (Elizabeth's friend), Mary (the plain sister), the odious Mr. Eliot, Lady Catherine De Burgh (a truly stunning comedic performance) and Georgiana Darcy.
