Actually the defining messages of the Bible are to treat thy neighbor as theyself (ok, the golden rule sorta but a little less self-centered) and to help the poor. That's why it's laughable that the rightwing in this country claims to be the most Christian of all as it exhibits neither of the above at anytime. Talk about false prophets and golden idols. Geez Loueeze. It would be nice if the US were ACTUALLY a Christian nation instead of just pretending.
