Hey Etch.... some different ways to interpret this option situation... But lets take the 3 closest strikes , 16, 17, and 18 The open interest on the calls is about 20K and the open interest on the puts is about 26K...so by a ratio of 5 to 4 investors (gambles) are betting that AMAT declines further. I think that technically, this is a bullish indicator. Because everyone has been so negative on this sector (smart money???) say to buy puts. But at the same time when when all the passengers lean on one side of the boat....most end up drowning. I know that you didn't ask my opinion, but I couldn't resist. I should have been a preacher. JMO...Jerome
