Maybe TDAmeritrade is recognizing the metals and energy bull, and sees that they can grow their clients' trading activity on the Canadian exchanges.

Regarding TD Ameritrade, providing access directly to the Canadian exchanges.
Did they tell you they would be improving things and when it would happen? They told me things might improve (using canadian symbols,geting accurate bids and asks) in 5-6 months.
I have tried Penntrade and several other brokers for trading Canadian stocks from the US, IB is the best so far.
