Personally, I don't consider GW Bush, Jr. a rightward swing or conservative...his budgetary and immigration policies, the medicare drug benefit, etc.....no way you can consider him a conservative....although I agree with part of your analysis as far as the war slowing any lurch leftward.......

Should the war continue its dismal downward course, it could easily fuel an increasingly strong reaction. Feingold could benefit.
