Everyday there is something about insurance companies raising rates so in reality, yes, it is definitely impacting the affordibility of homes. Asking prices aren't exactly falling off a cliff either. Something is in the process of "giving" now. Prices are realistically back to what they were a year ago but that's still high comparitively. The speculators are definitely out of the game. Viewings are definitely down as well.
One of your old places may be back on the market, BTW.
