If the governor's tax/pipeline proposals fail and he's voted out of office, I expect the Alaska LNG crowd to really crank up its efforts again. There are plans for an initiative on the fall ballot to use draconian punitive taxes to force the oil companies to either develop the gas or give up their leases. We might get a new administration that would try to play hardball with the gas leaseholders.
