Your whole premise that people go into the military instead of college is flawed. You are not even awake sir. They go into the military because those $10K - $20K signup bonuses look mind boggling to morons who can't get or hold a minimum wage job. Get real! It is a well known, and much commented on fact that the all volunteer army is not a uniform cross section of the American population, but is well skewed to the poorer economic families, the very ones who also have quite poor college attendance.
