Bin Laden is a lot like Richard Mellon Scaife.
He funds crackpots just to cause mischief.

"but by 2004 he calls his organization El Qaeda in Iraq."

Sure. He was a small timer until the invasion. Afterwards, he got a lot bigger.

So we are left with the idea that Zarqawi was "loosely affiliated" with El Qaeda, tried to assert financial independence in 2001, but by 2004 he calls his organization El Qaeda in Iraq. Still seems like a connection to me.

How much do you know about any of this? The reason I ask.......al Qaeda is not a Spanish word like you have it but an Arab one.
